Zeke in the snow

I think we forgot to mention anywhere here that we got about twenty inches of snow at the beginning of February. Here is Zeke wading in God's gift to Northwest Arkansas.

Home!

After 10 years of renting, Tom and I are officially HOMEOWNERS!

On March 4, we closed on our very first home. We've found a lovely spot for our family here in Rogers, Arkansas and it's the perfect house. We had to do some extra waiting and finger crossing for awhile because this was a short sale. Things were a little more complicated than a regular home sale, but we ended up getting a good deal on our dream home.

Bright and early on March 5, we moved in! We're slowly getting settled and loving the fact that we're unpacking for the last time for many many years. The house is awesome for us. It's a 4 bedroom house and almost 2000 square feet. It's all on 1 level, so I don't worry about babies climbing and falling down stairs. There is a ton of sunlight and a HUGE backyard with a swingset.

Here's a view of the house from the back.

I'm particularly fond of our jacuzzi tub in the MASTER SUITE.. Yes, I am the half-owner of a master suite. It feels so good to say that.

Most of the house has been freshly painted and updated. There are new appliances, wood floors in the living spaces and nice carpet in the bedrooms. There is even a real working fireplace! There are mature flowering trees all around the house, and the landscaping has been thoughtfully planned. We LOVE our new home.

The only real project that we need to complete is some wallpaper removal. It kind of looks like the 90's barfed on our kitchen and bathroom walls. But wallpaper comes down sort of easily. And paint goes up quickly! Well, we'll see how quickly it all happens, but I feel motivated. Without further ado, here is our "before" picture of the kitchen/dining room. Hopefully the "after" pic will come soon!

So, we'll post pictures of different parts of our new home as they are completely set up. We're just so glad to be HOME! :)
PS- The weather here is awesome. 70s in March! Take that MN!

End of February

Late February was tough on our patience. We waited for 3 Fridays in a row to close on our house. While we waited, we kept ourselves busy with work (Tom) play (kiddos) and child-rearing (me). We took a beautiful day trip out to a local park where we walked around for hours and played together as a family. Here are a few pictures of how we spent our late February.

Zeke sporting some shades. Note to self- buy bigger sunglasses for him this year.

Bath time under Mom's supervision. Wait... Is that...???

Yeah, Ezra is in a bucket. He's comfortable there.

Joy of Love 12: The Eyes

What? You mean to tell me February is over??? Oops!

Photobucket

I had such high hopes for myself with this photo project, and then some of the prompts started to be too tough for me to do since we weren't currently living with all of our stuff in our own house. (Examples: Now/Then photos- ours were all in boxes in a POD, Favorite place in your house- we were just wishing we had our own house- though Nelson living quarters were pretty comfy!) Truth be told, I lost steam and gave up. BUT- I did take these nice pictures of my family's eyes for the day 12 assignment. Do you like them? I do! So, better late than never... Here they are from youngest to oldest: Zadie, Ezra, Zeke, Tom

Prompt:
Today I want you to take a crisp photo of your loved ones eyes. The eyes are the window to the soul, to try to truly capture your loved one’s eyes today.
