Stuff We Like: Tilly & the Wall

We have lived outside the United States for about a year and a half now. We believe this uniquely qualifies us as cultural critics. We drop in from time to time, but for us the United States is a place over there on the map. So when we talk about culture in the states we aren't talking about ourselves. We're talking about what is going on ever there. In that other country.

Music and fashion in the United States right now are blowing up in ever expanding concentric circles of awesomeness. That is what we think. This awesomeness is radiating outward from the world epicenter of awesomeness currently located in Omaha, Nebraska.

Here's the evidence:

Tilly & the Wall
Tilly & the Wall have replaced the traditional drummer found in most rock bands with some clog dancers. That is all you really need to know. The pictures, videos, and music speak for themselves.

I see that they filmed this on 13th street, in front of O'Dowd's vacuum store. My uncle Mike is married to Colleen O'Dowd - her older brother Byron owns that store. You can get your Kirby repaired at that place.

Small world indeed. I met one of the girls from that group when she was teaching summer school.

Thanks, Jody. I knew it was somewhere in paradise, but I didn't know exactly where. Also, Kirbys are incredible vacuums.
